Lemon Drop (August 2024)

The life of a startup is a bit like a roller coaster. At times it will throw you in any direction. It’s unscripted and you have to find a way to get back on track. Throw in the craziness of being acquired by Stripe and now it feels a lot like drinking from a firehose. 

The ride has been exciting, thrilling, and a ton of work. 

After officially joining Stripe, the feelings we had along about this being a perfect fit were all solidified. It’s everything we had hoped for plus more. 

Since we announced our acquisition last month, we’re already made a lot of progress bringing Stripe and Lemon Squeezy together. We’ve heard a bunch of positive and helpful feedback from our community and we’re working hard to continually ship new improvements like we always have. 

A big thank you

So first and foremost — thank you. Your support means the world to us. 

Thank you for your excitement, your encouragement, and your engagement. And thank you for your feedback as well. The good, the bad, and the ugly. 

As we’ve worked to combine our companies, we know it’s taken a bit of time to get back to some of you.

We’re making strides to fix that and here’s what we’ve done.

Faster customer support 

We’ve hired 40+ new support staff. Since joining Stripe, there’s been a rush of applications to join Lemon Squeezy. We were overwhelmed by the response (both literally and figuratively). But with our new team now ramped up and trained, we’ve rapidly moved through our support backlog and have gotten in touch with the vast majority of you who’ve applied for new accounts. 

We are actively tracking our support metrics and we will continue to improve here.

New Features

Even in the midst of the madness, we promised we would still push Lemon Squeezy forward with the help of Stripe. Here are 3 things we released since the Stripe acquisition announcement.

Partial Refunds

In case you missed it — we shipped partial refunds. 

Now, you can decide exactly how much to refund any given order and issue multiple refunds until the remainder is zero!

Plus, merchants and customers can generate credit notes to help maintain accurate records 

Next.js Billing Template

Wedges (v1.4.0)

In our latest release (v1.4.0) we added a new select component. Quickly add a dropdown component that presents a list of selectable options when triggered by a button.‍

What’s Next?

Your feedback has also been helpful as we think through our roadmap. We’ve heard some great suggestions from the community and we’re excited about the plans we’re making. 

We’re investing for the future, and while we can’t tease anything right now, you’ll be hearing from us about updates, upgrades, and new features in the weeks and months ahead.
